In Conversation with Cendré: Freya Prout

In Conversation with Cendré is a series designed to showcase the incredible girls in our Cendré Circle. We’ll sit down with our favourite creators to get a glimpse into their lives, their style, and the inspirations that shape their personal creative vision.

We had the pleasure of shooting with the beautiful Freya Prout, styled in pieces from our Volume 001 Collection alongside our highly anticipated Kate Watch. Having worked with Freya as a creator for years, it was such a pleasure to finally shoot, and sit down with her getting to know more about the woman behind her effortless aesthetic.

Who is your ultimate style inspiration and why?

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. And not just now during their The Row era, even back when I was a kid. I had all of their books, tv shows and movies, they’ve always been my style icons. And around the same time, they started The Row was when I found my own personal style and conscious or not I still take a lot of inspo from them. I love their laidback, not overly ‘showy’, ‘if you know you know’ type of style. I probably throw in a bit more of a fun/ Australian edge but they’re always who I go back go back to when I feel lost in what’s trending.

Go-to Sydney recommendations?

Okay for food I love Bessie’s, 10 William St + Bills for breaky (sorry to the haters, but you really can’t beat the hotcakes). For bars I love Paradise, Bar Copains, Bessie’s (again) + RND (next to Raw Bar in Bondi). For shopping it’s got to be Paddington! So many cool, Aussie brands: St Agni, Beare Park, Henne etc.

What was your favourite piece from the collection we shot?

The beautiful Kate Watch + the black tassel belt! Just such cool, versatile pieces I know I’ll be getting a lot of wear out of. (Also, honourable mention to the choccy brown belt!)

One place in the world you want to visit?

I haven’t stopped yapping to my boyfriend about South Korea lately. I’m on Korean skincaretok and I just need to go over and have them do everything to my face. Also, a whole bunch of my fave small brands are South Korean so I just know the shopping would be incredible! Otherwise, get me back to Paris! I fell so deeply in-love the last time I was there and need to get back asap.

What makes you feel the most confident?

You know what; having my shit together (am I allowed to swear? Oops). Days where I’ve gone to the gym, had a nice big breaky, on top of my work and in a clean space. I’m a bit of an eccentric, chaotic personality and my world seems to mimic that. So, when I feel like I’m ahead of my own chaos I feel my most confident. Also! When I’m wearing a cool outfit + adorned in Cendré pieces x
